Everything You Need to Know About Coffee Enemas

Coffee enemas have been used for over a hundred years, as a generalized detoxification procedure. Despite rumors to the contrary, coffee enemas are perfectly safe when taken as directed. Coffee enemas stimulate the liver and gallbladder to release stored toxins and wastes, and this enhances liver function, by relieving the backlog.

Coffee Enema Highlights

  • Increases glutathione (master antioxidant) by 700%

  • Decreases pain

  • Activates vagus nerve

  • Expels pathogens and toxins

Items Needed

  • ORGANIC light roast coffee. When inserting coffee

  • into the rectum, you will be bypassing the liver’s

  • detoxification process, so any impurities or

  • chemicals will be directly absorbed into the body.

  • Distilled water (4 cups)

  • Organic Molasses (1tsp-1 tbsp)

  • French Press or Stovetop pot (stainless steel or

  • glass coffee-maker or pot. Aluminum is not

  • recommended, as it is a toxic metal and can leach

  • into the coffee while perking.

  • Enema Kit

  • Squatty Potty/ Stool

  • Supercharged add-ins: CT Minerals, Hydroxygen drops

Supercharge Your Enema

  • TUDCA 30 minutes prior (to increase

  • bile flow)

  • Before enema (after coffee is body

  • temp) Add 1-3 drops of CT Minerals +

  • Hydroxygen

  • After enema: Binder (Viradchem/

  • Biotoxin Binder ideal) Bentonite clay or

  • charcoal acceptable

Frequency

Start with a coffee enema 2-3 times/week in the beginning, until you feel noticeably better. Or follow your doctor’s instructions. Maintenance : 1 enema every 1-2 weeks

Procedure

*Ideal time to do an enema: After having a bowel movement (already cleaned out), On an empty stomach, before eating or hours after eating.

*It is acceptable to make the coffee the night before use; this allows the coffee to cool. The coffee is best used at body temperature. If it cools too much overnight, reheat slightly before using.

  1. Bring 4 cups of distilled water to a boil . Add 2 flat tablespoons of ORGANIC coffee. Let it continue to boil for 5 minutes, turn the stove off, leaving the pan on the hot burner. (Optional: Add 1Tbs of unsulfured blackstrap molasses to each quart of coffee, while the coffee is hot: the molasses aids in retaining the enemas and also increases the efficiency of detoxification.)

  2.  Allow it to cool down to a very comfortable, tepid temperature. Test with your finger. It should be the same temperature as a baby’s bottle. It’s better to have it too cold than too warm; never use it hot or steaming.

  3.  Prep your bathroom while coffee is cooling: Lay a towel down on the floor, or you can do the enema in the bathtub. If you are on the floor, make yourself comfortable with a towel for your neck and some reading material or something to listen to while performing the enema.

  4.  Before pouring the coffee into the enema kit, make sure the clamp is closed on the enema hose.** Next, pour the coffee from the pot into your enema container without getting the coffee grounds in the enema kit (you may have to pour over a strainer).

  5.  Set your enema kit above you about 3 feet (sink..etc). Do not put enema kit too high because it will be too forceful. It should flow very gently into the distal sigmoid colon only. It is not a high enema or colonic. It should only go into the distal rectum. Unclamp the hose and allow the air out of the hose, letting coffee spill into the toilet.

  6.  Lie down on the floor and gently insert the catheter. You can do this sitting with legs in front of you or it may be easier on your left side. If you need lubrication, food grade vegetable oil such as olive oil would be fine. Avoid petroleum jellies like KY or Vaseline, etc. Gently insert the tube into the rectum 3-6 inches, then release the clamp and let the first 1⁄2 of the quart (2 -3 cups maximum) of the coffee flow in. (Start out by opening the clamp for 5 seconds- then HOLD, if you can do more- open clamp for 5 more seconds and HOLD, can do 1-2 more times) Clamp the tubing off as soon as there is the slightest amount of discomfort or fullness. Some prefer to roll to the right side, then the left and then back to the right and then the left again, staying a few minutes on each side and then lie flat and gently massage the abdomen.

  7.  After the quart has been inserted, clamp the hose and pull out the catheter. Try to retain the enema for 10 minutes. Sometimes there will be an immediate urgency to get rid of it, which is fine. It helps to clean the stool out of the colon so that the next time around you can hold more of the enema. Never force yourself to retain it if you feel you can’t. When you have clamped the tubing, remove the catheter tip and void when you have to.

  8.  When you have finished your session, rinse out the kit and let dry. Clean areas your body came in contact with. Periodically run boiling water, peroxide, or other comparable anti-microbial material through the kit just to discourage mold growth when it is not in use.

Troubleshooting

If you feel “wired” or hyper, or have palpitations or irregular heartbeats after a coffee enema, you should reduce the amount of coffee, usually by half for a few days or weeks. Or consider that you really need organic coffee. And be sure the source of your water is good clean chemically less-contaminated spring, well, or filtered water. No chlorinated tap.

At first, you may feel slightly jittery, although most patients find the enemas relaxing. Usually, the jitteriness lessens after about the third enema. If the jitteriness continues, this means you are making the coffee too strong.

Usually you will hear or feel a squirting out and emptying of the bile duct. This occurs under the right rib cage, or sometimes more closely to the midline. If after 4-5 enemas you have never felt or heard the gallbladder release and you can hold 1⁄2 of the quart enema easily for 10 minutes, you may need a slightly stronger solution of coffee or larger volume. Consider making the coffee stronger, going up 1⁄2 Tbs increments per qt., not exceeding 2 Tbs per cup. Or you may need a slightly larger volume, such as 3 cups at a time. Sometimes, 2 enemas (2 cups or less each) rather than one at a session are more beneficial for some.

Always discontinue the enemas if there is any adverse reaction whatsoever, and discuss it with the doctor at your next appointment. They are never meant to make you worse.
