Symptoms of Poor Drainage

Almost every single person I speak with needs help in the area of drainage. It’s important to note drainage is different from Detox.

Drainage is something that happens naturally in your body, it’s the process of moving unwanted items around and out of your body, whereas detox is actively binding, pushing, sweating toxins out of the body.

You can actively push detoxification, but if your drainage pathways are blocked, sluggish, or stagnant the toxins have nowhere to go.

Your body is intelligent and has many ways to drain. If one pathway within this innately designed way of eliminating toxins becomes backed up, the drainage funnel has toxins pouring out of every level. Think of a pond, instead of a river. Ponds are stagnant and stagnation in the body breeds disease. Every step in our drainage funnel needs to be optimized in order to avoid negative symptoms which can show up as any (or even all!) of these common symptoms of poor drainage:

  • Pooping 1 or fewer times daily

  • Difficulty sweating

  • Brain fog

  • Waking up from 1-4am

  • Fatigue

  • Suppressed immune system

  • Cellulite

  • Swollen glands

  • Sound-light-emf sensitivity

  • Skin rashes, eczema, acne

  • Swelling and inflammation

  • Parasite issues

I often see patients who are eager to jump into a detox program without addressing the importance of drainage first. While detoxification is a crucial process for eliminating toxins from the body, it is equally important to ensure that the body's drainage pathways are functioning optimally to avoid any adverse effects.

The body has several drainage systems, including the lymphatic system, liver, kidneys, and colon. When these systems become sluggish or congested, toxins can accumulate in the body, leading to a host of health issues. By supporting the body's drainage systems before beginning a detox program, we can help ensure that toxins are eliminated from the body effectively and safely.

Did you know your brain has a lymphatic system?! It’s actually a relatively new medical discovery only coming to light in 2012. While we sleep, this system is designed to drain toxicities, by-products, and the brain’s own lymphatic sludge, (glymphatic). This is one something as foundational as sleep is essential to healing and when we have signs of disrupted sleep, it’s our body telling us we need to look deeper.

To support drainage, we look at your individual needs and typically start with the bottom of the funnel and work our way to the cellular level. Working through in the correct order is important to addressing foundational issues. Addressing drainage first can help you rid the body of infections and toxins which if left unaddressed, can continue to inflame the body and aggravate the immune system.

Have you tried all the diet protocols and still can’t get better? It may be your drainage pathways.
