How to Optimize Drainage

Are your systems working like a river or more like a pond? Toxicity = stagnation = disease

What is drainage?

Drainage is the movement of toxins and substances through and out of the body.

Detox is actively pushing/ binding toxins to remove them.

Many plans jump straight into binding or pushing toxins from tissues- which can lead to inflammation or side effects if the toxins have nowhere to go.

Addressing drainage FIRST allows the body to better eliminate toxins and infections.

I’ve experienced exponentially better outcomes in my clients and myself when properly addressing drainage pathways first.

Toxin load can cause and be worsened by stagnation which can show up as:

  • Skin issues

    • This can be acne, breakouts, rashes, dry scalp, redness, hives and more.

  • Brain symptoms

    • We work with lots of patients who struggle with symptoms like brain fog and poor memory.

  • Weight gain

    • Doing everything right, but the weight isn’t dropping? This can be a sign your drainage pathways need to be opened.

  • Not sweating

    • Working out hard or hitting the sauna but not breaking a sweat? There’s toxins trying to leave your body but they’re blocked!

  • Gut imbalances

    • Gut imbalances can look like poor digestion, loose stools, constipation, incomplete bowel movements, GI pain or discomfort, chronic bloating, excess gas…all this not-so-fun symptoms and your body’s way of asking for help.

  • Low energy

    • Chronic fatigue, mid-day crashes, poor quality sleep can all be helped by supporting proper drainage.

  • Hormonal imbalances

    • PMS, cycle irregularities, etc can be brought back into balance after addressing foundations.

  • Anxiety/Depression

    • It’s not all in your head. Unwarranted feelings of anxiety and/or depression are a real sign of something going on at a deep level.

  • Chronic disease

    • The missing key can often be moving out years of toxins.

Keys to health:

  1. Limit toxin exposure (mostly through air/water/products/food). The biggest i see are MOLD and bad water (I love distilled water)

  2. Effectively drain then detoxify! Detox is not a luxury in today’s world – it’s a necessity. And in order to detox properly, we have to address drainage!

Without opening up drainage pathways, you can re-circulate bugs and toxins. If you want to properly rid the body of toxins, organs of drainage must be supported. Before we get to the level of cellular repair, we must start to open the funnel from the bottom.

Organs that support drainage:

  • Lungs

  • Gut/Digestive Organs

  • Liver

  • Lymphatic system

  • Gallbladder

  • Kidneys

  • Skin

How to Optimize Drainage:

  1. Gut: Hydration, movement, bowel mover, ginger, coffee enemas, fiber, magnesium, vitamin c

  2. Liver & Gallbladder: Coffee enemas, TUDCA, amino acids, milk thistle, NAC, Taurine, beets

  3. Lymphatic system: Gut/liver support, hydration, movement, ALT, Lymphatic

  4. Kidneys: Hydration, marshmallow root, parsley, TUDCA

  5. Skin & lungs: IR Sauna, breathwork, dry brushing
